When my 85 year-old mother decided it was time to move to a retirement community, we listed her home with Pete Engelmann. It had been at least 25 years since anyone in my family had bought or sold a house in New Jersey. We had no idea how difficult the process had become. My mother does not drive and could not really participate in the process, which requires a volley of paper and digital communication with the agent, inspectors, appraisers, the attorney and any workmen involved. Peter was a fabulous communicator and gives his time and counsel freely. He was there to get everything done that needed to be done, with incredible patience and understanding of my mother’s needs. The family who purchased the house needed it quickly, and we moved my mother out, but lacked the time to find a home for numerous possessions. Peter knew who to call to get things removed in the few remaining days before the closing. My mother was happy with the price she received for her home, and the time it took to sell it. I honestly feel that I have a friend in Peter. He has been selling real estate for a long time, and he has a great sense of humor. He made the process so much easier for us than it might have been with someone less patient and knowledgeable.

I can not say enough positives about our experience working with Peter as our realtor. We already knew him for many years as our neighbor and knew that if we ever wanted to sell our house we would go to him. After a preliminary conversation about pricing and what we would need to do to the house to make it market ready, he called several days later to tell us he had an interested buyer. It all moved ahead from there and exactly 4 months later we closed on the house. Peter provided information and guidance throughout the process and lost of humor when things seemed overwhelming. We accomplished what can take many months and up to several years to do in those 4 short months and ended with a successful sale.
